The commercial bonds between the state of Georgia and South Korea are considerable. The Asian nation is ranked No. 10 among Peach State trading partners, and Kia chose the town of West Point for its first manufacturing site in North America.

Robinson’s Department of Computer Information Systems hopes to strengthen those bilateral bonds even further.

The department offers programs for American and Korean professionals and students designed to help participants gain a better understanding of the other nation’s business practices.

First year activities included organizing a technology-focused study tour to Korea and Hong Kong; welcoming a trade delegation from Seoul; and presenting speakers
with expertise in business differences between the two nations. In summer 2013, the department will host a 30-person group of Korean information technology
professionals.
